# Home Care Rate Card

> Home Care Rate Card (homecareratecard.com) is an independent public directory of licensed non-medical home care agencies in which each agency publishes its own signed, dated rate card. It opens first in Los Angeles County, California. It is free for families, contacts are never sold, and it is available in English and Spanish.

Status as of 26 September 2026: in development, with a public waitlist. No agency rate cards are published yet. We only print a price an agency has signed.

## What a home care rate card is

A home care rate card is one agency's own price list in a standard format:
- Hourly rates for three levels of care: companion care, personal care and dementia care.
- Rates by shift type: hourly, 12-hour shift, and live-in (per day).
- Minimum hours per visit and per week, and the smallest possible bill.
- The name of the person who signed for the agency, and the date the agency last confirmed the rates. A card not re-confirmed within 90 days is marked out of date.

## How a card is verified

1. License checked against the State of California's list of licensed Home Care Organizations.
2. The agency fills in its rates and minimums.
3. Someone at the agency signs; we print their name and the date.
4. The agency confirms again every 90 days, or the card is marked out of date.

## How we are paid

Agencies will pay one flat monthly fee for the verified seal and an embeddable rate card. We take no referral fees, charge no fee per family, sell no leads, and nobody can pay to rank higher. Every licensed agency is listed, not only those that pay. During the Los Angeles County pilot, a verified rate card is free for agencies.
